Walter "Walt" A. Boles, 83, of Freeville, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in
Auburn, NY.

Born on May 5, 1940, Walt was one of seven children born to the late Raymond W. Boles and Rose
Marie Beyeler. He grew up on the family farm in Lansing, NY, participating in many rodeos hosted
by the family. He served in the Air Force from 1962 – 1966, stationed at Pease Air Force Base in
Portsmouth, NH, and at some point, was deployed to Guam. He was a proud American, who was a
dedicated member of the V.F.W.

He started a trucking business when he returned home from the Air Force. He was a one-man-
show, transporting livestock to various destinations for local farmers until his retirement. He
enjoyed watching all sports, especially Syracuse basketball. He loved socializing with people, trail
riding, dancing, tennis, and soccer. He was extremely proud of playing on the King Ferry basketball
team. The team won the 1959 Cayuga County Championship in which he scored many points. Walt
never passed up the opportunity to help someone in need.

In addition to his parents, Walt was predeceased by his son, Randy Scott Boles, his twin brother,
Willie Boles, and his sister, Kathy Elser. Walt is survived by his children, Sandra Boles, Alpine, and
Michael Boles, Auburn; three grandchildren, Dylan Hopkins, Sydney Boles, and Shelby Boles; one
great granddaughter, Makari Overstreet; brothers and sister-in-law, Stub Boles, King Ferry, Jimmy
and Carol Boles, Lansing; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sissy and Newell Fenner, Lansing, Albert
Elser, Genoa, Mary Boles and Rascal Jax, Lansing, and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date.
