Stanley Burke

Stanley Burke, 81, of Locke, passed away peacefully and in the presence of his wife and children on April 15, 2024 at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse.

Stan was born on October 15, 1942 in Cortland, son of the late Stanley and Helen (Blazejcryk) Burke. He grew up in Groton and worked early on as a tool and die maker for Smith Corona. He retired in 1999 after a 30-year career as an engineer for Kodak in Rochester.

Stan and Sharon lived thereafter at their lake home in Indian Cove on Owasco Lake until recently relocating to Locke. Stan enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, and life on the lake. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon (Harmon) Burke; daughter, Teresa Hansard (Christopher); son, Randy Burke (Amanda); sister, Mary Burke; grandchildren: Christopher Bennett (Carly), Michael Bennett (Samantha), Kelsey McGiver (Gus), Jake Burke (Eliza), Allison Andrews (Jake), and Brock Burke (Katie); and great-granddaughters, Zoey Andrews and Ella Burke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Ryan. 

At Stan's request, there are no public services. Private interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Groton.
