Newell F. Fenner, Sr., 82, of Lansingville, passed away at home on December 9, 2025.
Newell was born in Sherwood, NY on December 19, 1942, a son of the late Marian (Avery) and George L. Fenner, Sr.
He was an area resident most of his life and a graduate of King Ferry High School. Newell worked throughout his career in trucking, farming and construction in New York, Colorado, and Arizona, and he retired several years ago as a foreman and equipment operator for the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District. He enjoyed his time gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth "Sissy" (Boles) Fenner; children: Glenn Fenner (Laurie), Mark Fenner (Anita), Marian Johnson (Kyle), and George Fenner (Wendy); twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Newell F. "Charlie" Fenner, Jr.; brother, George Fenner, Jr.; and a sister, Julia "Judy" Corrington.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20 at the King Ferry Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends afterwards in the church's adjoining community hall. Interment at a later time will be in Lansingville Cemetery.
