Michele L. VanOrman, 66, of King Ferry, passed away at home unexpectedly on October 18, 2023.She was born November 26, 1956 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Robert and Jane (Black) Green, and was a graduate of Auburn Central School. Michele was a bookkeeper for many years with the Visiting Nurse Services of Ithaca, and had worked previously for the American Red Cross, Dick Wilson Real Estate, and, in earlier years, as an LPN for Auburn Memorial Hospital, following her attendance at Cayuga Community College. Family and friends have benefitted through Michele's love of quilting.She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen VanOrman; her sons, Matthew VanOrman (Molly) and Philip VanOrman (Kara); grandsons: Mason, Michael, Christian, and Keegan; sisters, Laurie Pierleoni (Wayne), and Tammy Green (Anthony Martellaro); brothers, Stephen Green (Deanna) and Mark Green (Maria); and many nieces, nephews and friends.Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 29 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 State Route 90, Genoa.
