Michael D. Darrow

Michael D. Darrow, 61, of Groton, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026 after a battle with heart disease.

Michael was born on December 15, 1964 in Scranton, PA, a son of the late Stanley and Patricia (Ford) Darrow. He grew up in Montrose, PA and eventually settled into the Cortland area. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Suit-Kote Corporation in Cortland until his retirement. He was a “motorhead” and enjoyed Harley's, cruising in his Challenger, attending car shows with his grandkids, watching NASCAR and dirt track racing.

Mike was the life of the party and made friends everywhere he went. His family will always remember his fun spirit, dance moves, and ability to fix anything with a motor.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Ashlee Darrow, of McGraw; his grandchildren, Elaina and Connor Darrow; stepchildren, Ruth, Mindy, and Casey Chorley; brothers: Leslie and Jeffrey Darrow; sisters: Kelley Colwell and Roxanne Lyon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Scott Breeds.
