Marjorie Dee Rounds, 63, of Cortland, passed away on August 13, 2024 at Cortland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.

Dee was born July 18, 1961 in Ithaca, a daughter of the late Donald Babcock and Gale (Fish) Cole, of Marathon. She was a graduate of Lansing Central School in 1978, graduating a year early and in the National Honor Society. Later in life she would get an associates degree where she was on the dean's list. Dee had worked at Smith Corona (SCM), then as an administrative assistant at Gutchess Lumber, and more recently with MHP in Schenectady. Dee loved to travel, finding festivals in other states and going off on an adventure for the day alone or with her daughter and grandchildren. She loved to take pictures; you could always count on her to get all the pictures at any family affair. She took pride in her garden and flower beds and loved to just be out in nature. She loved music, concerts, Nascar and the Miami Dolphins. Dee's greatest joy was her cats, and she was lovingly called "the crazy cat lady." Dee could be counted on for a birthday card or a holiday care package with some of your favorite things. Dee will be greatly missed.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her Aunt Kaye Westfall; daughters: Elise Repper, Kira Enders (Paul) and Paige Enders (Kyle); grandchildren: Gabriella, Amir, Marcel, Jackson and Oliver; her sisters, Robin Babcock-Nichols (Kenneth) and Tammy Cunningham, of Valdosta, GA; brothers Fred Cole (Tim) and Delbert Martin (Monique); nieces and nephews Laura, Marcus, Delbert and Katie Anne.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, August 26 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Avenue, Groton. Friends may call at the funeral home on August 26 from 2:00-3:00 PM, preceding the service. Interment will follow at Groton Rural Cemetery.
