Marjorie F. McKinney, 86, of Locke, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2026 after a time of declining health.

Marge was born on September 3, 1939 in Cortland, the daughter of the late Lester and Gladys (Hazen) Dean. A lifelong area resident, she retired from Cornell University where she had administered secretarial services for the College of Veterinary Medicine. She was a member of United Church of Genoa. She loved caring for her horses back in her younger days. She also loved sitting on her patio, enjoying the sun, working in her flowers, and spending time with all of her loved ones.

Marge is survived by her sons, Ron McKinney (Sue), of Locke, and James McKinney (Kathy), of Enfield, CT; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, James R. McKinney on December 12, 2006, and by her brothers, Richard J. Dean and Howard Dean.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time. There are no calling hours.  Arrangements are with the Shurtleff Funeral Home, Genoa, and online condolences may be shared with her family at www.shurtleffservices.com .
