Lisa Ann Gallow, 56, formerly of Groton, passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2024 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Lisa was born on December 22, 1967 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Lawrence J. "Larry" and Sally E. (Porter) Hays. She was a graduate of Groton Central School and was obtaining her MBA at Post University. She dedicated many years of her life to working at the Postal Service. She was a 20-year member of the Citizens Hook & Ladder Co. #3 of the Groton Fire Department, serving faithfully as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Department's Ambulance Service. Lisa volunteered her time at the Groton Food Pantry, the animal shelter, and the Cortland VFW Auxiliary. Lisa loved to read, bake, and spend time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dennis E. Gallow; her daughters, Meghan Bouck (Gary Bouck II); Amanda Gallow (Laurence Bentley III); and Macala Amuso (Vincent Amuso Jr); grandchildren: Hallie, Brooklyn, Marianne, Bailey, Vincent III; a sister, Lori Bonawitz (Mark Goff); her brothers, Joseph Hays (Tammy) and Alan Hays (Penny); half-brother Robbie (Melvalyn) Hays; step brothers John Warwick (Mel), Ronald Bacon; step sisters Lisa Bacon and Kathy Warwick; as well as a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a daughter, Emily Grace Gallow, stepfather, Ted Smith, and stepmother Lucy Hays.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 15 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Avenue, Groton, with Pastor Sharon Newman officiating. Calling hours are at the funeral home from 12:00- 2:00 PM on Friday, preceding services. Interment will follow at Groton Rural Cemetery. Friends and family will gather afterwards at the Masonic Lodge in Groton.
