Lindsay A. Orr, 45, of Groton, passed away unexpectedly on May 25, 2024 due to a catastrophic pulmonary embolism.

She was born on March 23, 1979 in Cortland, the daughter of Keith and Roxanne (Noble) Orr, who survive her.

Lindsay was a graduate of Groton Central School, Class of 1997, and earned an Associates degree thereafter at Tompkins Cortland Community College. She started her work life while still a student, at the First National Bank of Groton where she worked for 18 years. She decided to spread her wings and went to Tompkins Community Bank in Ithaca where she became a mortgage processor. She had a lifelong love of music and singing, participating in church, choruses, plays and Instagram and TikTok videos. Her favorite place was the beach which she enjoyed each year with her dearly loved extended family. Topsail Island, NC was her cherished happy place.

Lindsay's blue eyes, broad smile, beautiful voice and quirky personality will be sorely missed.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Jennifer (Belles) Orr, of Moravia, and their children, Hudson and Hailey Orr; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She relied especially on her Aunt Camie for comfort and advice.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 31 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 103 Lincoln Avenue, Groton. Family and friends will gather for a celebration of her life immediately afterward at the American Legion Hall in Groton.
