Linda L. Emery

Linda L. Emery, 76, of Etna, passed away on June 15, 2026 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center after a brief illness.

Linda was born October 22, 1949 in Ithaca, a daughter of the late Richard and Doramae (Dickens) Rohrer. A lifelong area resident, she attended Ithaca High School and worked for many years as a housekeeper at the Clinton House, area hotels and the Ithaca YMCA.

Linda enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, Art, and especially loved attending the New York State Fair. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of Carrington Fuller Post 800 American Legion and the Cortland County Disabled American Veterans (DAV). 

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Arthur L. Emery, of Etna, NY; grandson, Jonathon Rooney, of McGraw, NY; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in 2025 by her daughter, Anna Barnhart. 

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15 at Carrington Fuller Post 800 American Legion, 307 Main St., Groton.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, are recommended to the Post 800 American Legion Auxiliary, 307 Main St., Groton, NY 13073, or to the Disabled Veterans of Cortland County (DVCC) Auxiliary, 91 Owego St., Cortland, NY 13045.
