Lester D. White

Lester D. White, 62, of Genoa, passed away on September 22, 2025 at Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse.

Lester was born on July 11, 1963 in Syracuse, a son of Annette (Morrissette) White, of Venice, NY and the late Gordon F. White. A longtime, well-known resident of the Genoa area, Lester drove trucks for O'Toole Stone & Gravel in Moravia, and had worked at several local farms.

He enjoyed camping, hunting, and farming, and he enjoyed life to its fullest. Lester always had a smile on his face and jokes up his sleeve!

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Michelle (Merritt) White; daughters: Elizabeth Torres (Emmanuel), Tina White (Adonaias Morales), and Amanda White; his pride and joy-- the eight grandchildren: Skyler, Gavin, Alvin, Weslee, Liana, Emariela, Emma, & Gracelynn (with # 9 pending!); brothers: Ricky (Sherry Townsend), Timmy (Nina), Scott (Kim Swan), Merle (Tamara), Mitch, and Danny (Kelly) White; sisters: Debbie Shute (Stuart), Brenda Hildreth (David), and Ann Houghtling (Craig); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Alfred White.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 27 at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 State Route 90 in Genoa. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 29 at East Venice Rural Cemetery, Stewart Corners Rd., Town of Venice.
