John R. Berry, 75, of Genoa, passed away on March 24, 2024 at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.

John was born March 10, 1949, a son of the late Ralph and Hazel (Van Patten) Berry. He was a lifelong resident of Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School.  A certified organic farmer, John owned and operated Berry Farms with his wife, Sjana McClure-Berry, where they raised crops and beef cattle.  He had been a member of the United Church of Genoa.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sjana McClure-Berry; his brother, James Berry (Pat) and a brother-in-law, Kenneth "Butch" Manzari, all of Genoa; a nephew, Michael Manzari; and nieces, Kristen Berry and Kelly Berry (Dominick).  He is also survived by his late nephew's family: Mary, Cody & Tyler Manzari.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Bonnie Manzari and a nephew, Richard Manzari.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the United Church of Genoa, with the Rev. B.L. Foster officiating.  Interment at a later time will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Auburn.  There are no prior calling hours.  

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, are graciously directed to the United Church of Genoa,10070 St. Rt. 90, Genoa, NY 13071, or to the Southern Cayuga Instant Aid (SCIA) Ambulance, P.O. Box 7, Poplar Ridge, NY 13139.
