Jason Michael Robert Morusty, 48, of Groton, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2026.
Jason was born on September 20, 1977 in Ithaca, a son of the late Robert Joseph and Sheila Marie (Adams) Morusty. He was a lifelong Groton resident and had worked for many years in food services, many years ago managing a Dunkin Donuts in Cortland.
He was "all about the San Francisco 49-ers," and also enthusiastically cheered on the Groton sports teams at their contests. He loved fishing with his son, BBQ with his family, and listening to his playlist for hours. Jason loved spending time with his children and wife, playing video games, and being a family.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Rose (Salce) Morusty; his children, Zoe Morusty and Jason Morusty, Jr.; sister, Faith Morusty; brother, Robert Morusty, Jr.; his mothers-in-law, Catherine Salce and Susan (McCoy) Salce; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Coggins; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
