Edwin H. Nedrow

May 2, 1953 — April 1, 2026

King Ferry

Edwin H. Nedrow, 72, of King Ferry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a short illness. Ed was born on May 2, 1953. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold A. and Marguerite E. (Wilkinson) Nedrow, and his brother, Bruce A. Nedrow.

Edwin is survived by his nieces, Tracey Spanola and Felicia Anderson, both of Florida, as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews, Chase, Brooke, Aiden, and Parker.

Ed attended King Ferry Elementary School, where his mother, Marguerite, was one of his teachers. He was a 1971 graduate of Southern Cayuga Central School. During high school, Ed worked on the farm for Tyrone and Beverly Sheils after school and during the summers. He later became employed full time at Sheils Farms until joining the Ledyard Town Highway Department. Eddie worked for the town from about 1986 until his retirement. He also farmed his family’s homestead, the Nedrow farm, and worked other land as a cash crop farmer in his spare time until the farm was sold.

Ed had a love of old cars, including his 1966 Ford Galaxie which he had been in the process of restoring. In 2025, he sold the car to a friend. That car is now road-ready, with the intention of giving Ed a ride this spring, when the nights were long and the air was dry. In addition to cars, Ed loved to travel, visit with friends, and Circling.

Family and friends were important to Ed. He cared for his parents and his brother when they needed help. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the genuine care he showed to everyone around him. A man of few words, Ed had a way of making people feel seen and valued. He was often a helping hand, a steady presence, and a regular at breakfast gatherings, farm shows, and local events. His thoughtfulness and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Ed’s community also rallied for him in his time of need.

Ed’s humor, his plainspoken nature, his giant presence, and that enormous laugh will be deeply missed by his best friends.
