Charles T. "Chuck" Harriger, Sr., 59, of Groton, passed away unexpectedly at home, during his courageous battle against cancer, on May 17, 2025.
He was born on October 13, 1965 in Ithaca, a son of the late Thomas Harriger and Ella Wheeland.
A lifelong area resident, he had owned and operated Chuck's Painting for many years. In addition, he enjoyed farming his land and held several rental properties.
His main peace was found in being on his farm, loving God, and his family. His joy was often found in his endless effort to help people in need-whether it be a hug, advice, a few bucks, a job, or just a friend. His giving heart, kindness and generosity will be his true legacy.
He is survived by his wife, Julie (Schmutzler) Harriger; children, Deserae Miller (Bob) and Charles Harriger, Jr. (Jacki); several grandchildren; a brother, Willard Harriger (Linda); and nephew, Doug Harriger (Geri), who was like a son to him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Nichole Harriger, and a brother, Thomas Harriger, Jr.
