Barbara J. Heath, 83, of Moravia, passed away on April 11, 2026 at Auburn Community Hospital.
Barbara was born on October 8, 1942 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Floyd and Wilma (Walter) Alnutt. A lifelong area resident, Barbara attended the schools in Union Springs and enjoyed a long career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at several area health care facilities, including Auburn Memorial Hospital, Groton Community Health Care Center and Howd's Nursing Facility in Moravia.
Barbara was "all about her family," caring for, cheering on and supporting her husband, children, and the grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Floyd Heath, of Moravia; children: Lisa Gilfus, Brian Gilfus, and Floyd "Mick" Heath IV (Jessica Heath); four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Keith Alnutt (Diane Alnutt) and Dennis Alnutt (Sandra Alnutt).
In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a son, Mark Gilfus; a daughter Vicky Fenton; a sister, Eileen Bevier; and a brother, Jerry Alnutt.
Graveside interment services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday April 18 at Fleming Rural Cemetery (Rt. 34B in Fleming). A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Poplar Ridge Fire Station.
